Devdigest

One feed for tech. Each story once, from every source you follow.

Devdigest puts tech sites, dev blogs, podcasts, Hacker News and more in one feed and groups the same story from many sources into one card. There is no account: what you read and what the feed learns stay on your phone.

Devdigest is built so that your reading stays on your device. We (the developer) do not run a server that receives your sources, your reading history or what you save.

What stays on your phone

What leaves your phone, and to whom

WhenWhat and whereWhy
Refreshing your sourcesRequests go directly from your phone to each source's own server (for example a blog, the Hacker News API at hacker-news.firebaseio.com, a podcast host). Those servers see your IP address, like when you visit them in a browser. To fetch the stories you chose to follow
Loading imagesImages load from the servers that publish them (you can choose Wi‑Fi only or never in Settings). To show thumbnails
Searching podcastsYour search words go to Apple's public iTunes Search API.To find podcast feeds
Ads (only if ads are turned on in the free version)Google AdMob receives device information and, on Android, the advertising ID, under your consent choices (shown in the EEA, UK and Switzerland). People with Pro see no ads.To show a few clearly labelled "Sponsored" cards
Usage statistics and crash reports (on by default; switch off in Settings → "Anonymous usage and crash reports")Google Firebase Analytics receives which features are used (for example "a source was added", "the brief was opened"), with an app-instance ID, the app version, phone model, country and language. Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports (stack traces, app version, phone model). Never your sources, titles, links, searches, notes or private links. Firebase's advertising-ID collection is turned off.To fix crashes and see which features help
Automatic error reports (only with the switch above on)A short technical report (error type, code location, app version, phone model, language) to our Google Form, at most 5 a day. Error messages are removed because they could contain a link.To fix errors that don't crash the app
Sending feedbackOnly when you tap Send: your message, the app version and phone model, to our Google Form (Google stores it for us). Add an email address only if you want a reply. To read and answer you
InvitesInvite links carry a random code through Google Play. If a friend sends you a thank-you link, it contains your code and a one-way hash of an ID that Android gives Devdigest on their phone (it can't be reversed or used by other apps). It goes only where your friend sends it; we never receive it.To give the inviter 30 days of Pro, once per friend
BackupsOnly when you export a backup, to the place you choose; Android's own device backup may include the library (never private links). To restore your library

We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos, the articles you read or your search terms. We do not sell data. Google (Firebase, Forms, AdMob) acts as our service provider. Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months, crash reports for 90 days.

Your choices

Everything on your phone can be deleted in the app (remove sources, unsave, reset what the feed learned) or by uninstalling. To delete usage data or a feedback message we received, write to us (see Support) with roughly when you sent it; we answer within 30 days. Ad privacy choices are in Settings when they apply. Questions: see Support.

Terms of use

Last updated: 6 November 2026

  1. The app. Devdigest is a reader. It shows titles, short excerpts and links published by the sources you follow, and opens the full article on the publisher's site. Content belongs to its publishers; Devdigest is not affiliated with them, with Y Combinator (Hacker News) or with YouTube.
  2. Your sources. You choose what to follow. Only add private feed links that you are allowed to use under your subscription.
  3. AI summaries. Optional, generated on your device, labelled, and may contain mistakes. Always check the source.
  4. Pro. On Android, Pro features may be free for a limited time or for 24 hours after a rewarded ad you choose to watch. No purchase is required on Android.
  5. Invites. When a friend you invited uses Devdigest on 3 different days and sends you their thank-you link, you get 30 days of Pro, once per friend's phone and up to 6 times a year. Invited friends get nothing for installing. We may end the programme; Pro time already earned is kept.
  6. No warranty. The app is provided "as is". We are not liable for content published by third-party sources or for interruptions of those sources.
  7. Changes. We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version.
